Dolor (For Whom The Bell Tolls)

The main body is a heavily altered Barbie horse.

I wanted the horse to look like it was pushing back against the inevitable forward movement, the rider is resolute.

The harness and bridle are aluminium as is the mane, the fabric is copper.

The lance is a roughed up knitting needle and sharpened metal.

For the main figure I used parts from an old Visible Man model kit, the bones chopped and repositioned, the skin made into the armour supplemented with scrap and copper. The skull is made from Polymer clay.

Having The Time Of Our Lives
Having The Time Of Our Lives

Barbie horse parts and a sports car model, heavily modified. the rear side panels of the car are actually from the horse so the car is narrower as well as bent and fractured.

The main feel for this piece is for it too look like it is headlong running out of control as well as impacting on the front left corner.
